Sleep Technologist

Description

Detailed Listing description
Perform quality diagnostic polysomnographic (PSG) and multiple sleep latency (MSLT) recordings and provide significant and accurate data to physicians for diagnostic use in the treatment of patients with sleep/wake disorders. To educate and follow-up patients' with prescribed therapies. Will be responsible for performing either Sleep Study Procedures or Neurological Testing for all patient populations. Expected to understand the testing equipment in detail, including its structure, function, indications for use, physiological effect upon the patient, and basic maintenance procedures. Understand and be able to apply principles of anatomy and physiology, normal and abnormal, related to procedures performed, and must have a working expertise of the disease and pathological conditions encountered. Must be able to work with all age groups and those with growth and developmental needs of unique client populations.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

12 hr-Night shift position with occasional 12hr day shift and 1 weekend a month

QUALIFICATIONS

Must hold current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Polysomnographic Technologist in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position. Must also obtain registry as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/RRCP) or Polysomnographic Tech (RPSGT) within two years of the date of hire. Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or current ND license as a Respiratory Therapist with sleep practice preferred. If not registered or licensed, must be a graduate of a Polysomnography program. Must obtain required CEU's/year to maintain licensure. Must have a basic expertise of sleep disorders, electronics, electrical safety, with skill to utilize computers for patient documentation and data gathering for patient care. CPR certification is required. Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or Respiratory Therapist required. Must obtain required CEU's/year to maintain licensure. Must have a basic expertise of sleep disorders, electronics, electrical safety, with skill to utilize computers for patient documentation and data gathering for patient care. CPR certification is required.

If Respiratory Therapist â?? Sleep practice/expertise is strongly preferred, though we will train
Current ACLS
RPSGT is strongly preferred and required in some locations
